Happy Two Months!

Aiden celebrated his two month birthday on February 19, 2009!  This is a belated post due to our trip to North Carolina, but here is a slideshow of pictures from Aiden's second month:

I can't believe how fast time flies and how much Aiden has developed in two months of life.  We love seeing all of the smiles of Aiden, especially when he first wakes up in the morning!  He loves to smile all day long-many people are amazed at his cute little smile with dimples.
Aiden continues to love so many different things, including his bouncer and swing which are still some of his favorite places to sit and sleep, besides Mommy and Daddy's laps!  Aiden took his first nap in his crib-where he slept like a champ!  He is starting to sleep longer stretches at night, allowing his mommy and daddy to regain their sanity!  Aiden loves bathtime and getting ready for bed.  He loves soaking in the warm water and doesn't cry anymore when he gets out of the bathtub now that his parents heat up his towel and pajamas before using them!  After a short feeding at night and being swaddled all tightly, Aiden falls right to sleep!  Aiden has a slight obsession with his MAM pacifiers and is glad that Mommy found him a clip to help keep it near him!
He loves being read to and looking at his colorful books, especially his Dog Book.  He likes listening and dancing with music!  He loves to fall asleep in his stroller as we take our daily morning walks with Cobi and Sheffield...but always wakes up as soon as we get home and stop moving. Aiden also enjoys batting at toys in his playgym, looking at his monkey rattle, and his favorite things to do is look at his hands and feet!  He is tolerating tummy time better, especially when Mommy or Daddy put a blanket under him that helps him roll over.  Aiden got to see lots of different places this month, including his first out of state trip to New York to see Aunt Jen and Uncle Paul.  Uncle Paul did a fabulous job as Aiden's first babysitter-playing with him and putting him in the swing to sleep.     His two month birthday was celebrated with his first plane ride to North Carolina to see Grammy and Grandpa Ruff where he showed himself to be a fabulous traveler!  You also enjoy our daily outings that include trips to our favorite store, Target!  One of the joys of our Target trip is taking the elevator up and down to the different levels:)
Aiden is continuing to grow in his second month of life.  At his two month appointment, Aiden is now 23 inches (YEAH for the 50th percentile) and 9 pounds, 9 ounces (10th percentile)!

First Flight!

Wow, it has been awhile since I have updated the blog!  So Aiden had another first this past week:  his first flight and first overnight trip away from home!!!!  Aiden and I went to visit my family in North Carolina, while Chris stayed behind to work and take care of our other two babies, Cobi and Sheffield.
Aiden and I said good-bye to Daddy last Thursday in the airport for his first plane ride. Traveling with an infant is a lot more work than you can imagine!  To go through security, you have to send the stroller, car seat, bags, liquids, milk/bottles, plus get Aiden and I through! Aiden did so well on both plane rides:)  He enjoyed looking at all the new sights in the airport and loved all the people doting over him.  On both rides, he was either eating or sleeping which made his Mommy happy since we had no crying the whole time!
Aiden was a busy bug while we visited North Carolina.  He got to meet his Great Aunt Betty on Thursday night and can't wait to meet the rest of her family soon!  Aiden also got to venture to church on Sunday, do deal shopping with Mommy and Grammy, visit Grammy's classroom, go out to dinner, and get lots and lots of love and attention!!!  Aiden is really starting to ham it up for people-smiling like crazy and talking in his baby coos to those around him!  He loved to look at the patterns in Grammy's and Great-Grandma's outfits and is even starting to reach for objects around him:)  While I was doing the word jumble with my grandma one morning, Aiden pulled the whole placemat off of the table while he was sitting on my lap!
We also enjoyed a week of fabulous food-YUM!  Chris always laughs because my family plans our days around meals...and it's so true, but it makes life so grand!  First of all, I just am so thankful for my mom's cooking-she is the BEST!  She made many wonderful things, including my special request of beef stroganoff and egg noodles since I never cook it myself because my husband has a hatred towards mushrooms!  I also had my absolute favorite thing in the world...a sandwich from Fresh Market!  I could seriously eat food from that place every single day and am still savoring the Chocolate Toffee cookies from there that Grandma sent back with me:)  And I also got some Bojangles, chopped pork barbecue, and some of my Grandma's roast and potatoes!  Now that I am back in Connecticut, I am telling myself it is time to start watching what I eat and lose the rest of these baby pounds...let's see if I can make it happen!
It was sad to say good-bye but hope to make it back there again soon.  Aiden was excited to see his daddy, and so was I!  We really missed him and he was ready for us to arrive home...although he did enjoy the extra hours of sleep that he caught up on!!!  Thanks to my mom, dad, and Grandma for such a wonderful time!  We had a great time and I can't wait to see you again soon:)

Here are some pictures from our trip:

Aiden received this awesome shirt from our neighbors, which was perfect for the trip!  Too bad he had a major spit up which required a clothing change at the Philadelphia airport before we even made it to North Carolina!
We have finally arrived and Aiden is happy to be in North Carolina!  No pictures of Aiden's mommy because she is worn out after a day of flying with her little boy:)
Aiden is now 2 months old!

Aiden loves the bouncer at Grandma's house and his new soothing seahorse that helps put him to sleep!

Four Generations:  Mommy, Great Grandma Snow, Grammy, and Aiden!

Aiden loves doing the airplane with Grammy!

Aiden is starting to move...

So Aiden has become quite the mover lately!  Not only does he move his arms and legs like crazy, he is starting to think about rolling over as you can see in this video here:
On Monday, Aiden took his first trip to another state when Aiden and I went to visit Uncle Paul and Aunt Jen in the Bronx of New York City!  Aiden did fabulous in the car ride and thankfully, I didn't get lost at all trying to navigate myself around there.  Although I loved living in DC and right outside of NYC, I was reminded how thankful I am of not having to deal with crazy traffic, the crowds at Target, and trying to find a parking spot on city streets!  We had a great time seeing the two of them.  Jen is due with a baby girl within the next month and  we can't wait for little Clementine to make an appearance-she will be Aiden's first cousin and he can't wait to play with her!  And in April, my other sister and husband (Jill and Tom) are having a baby boy who will be Aiden's second cousin!!  Our next family get together will be much more interesting with three little ones moving around!!!

Monkey Play!

It's so awesome to watch Aiden discover new things, as you can see in this video where he grasps a toy and tries to figure out what it is!
