Dedication, Grandparents, and Zoo-What a BUSY weekend:)

What a fun weekend we had here in the Rogers household! On Friday, Grandma and Grandpa Rogers showed up for a weekend visit to see little Aiden. Luckily, they got to see him before bedtime after Chris picked them up from LaGuardia and braved rush hour traffic on a Friday evening (I don't envy him one bit!).
On Saturday, we woke up to a sick little baby...runny nose, watery eyes, fussiness=no fun! Although he was sick, we decided to check out the Bridgeport Zoo since it is only six miles away from our house. This was Aiden's first adventure to a zoo...we got to see tigers, prairie dogs, monkeys, and much more. We also tried a new burger joint here in Fairfield for dinner...Flipside Burgers:) It was yummy and there's nothing better then a cheeseburger with cheese fries. Can you tell that I love cheese (it must be that Molly, my roommate who hailed from Wisconsin, rubbed off on me?) The evening topped off with Chris and his parents rooting on the awesome Hawkeyes while I tried for hours to get our sick little baby to bed-finally...he ended up falling asleep with Mama in bed!
Aiden was dedicated at church this past Sunday. It was a short, but sweet, part of the service where Aiden of course, decided to make his presence known on stage (a few fussy cries and a few monkey calls)! We are thankful for Chris' parents being here to be a part of the special day.
On Monday, we ventured out on a nice hike where Chris got an extra workout in by carrying Aiden around. We also had lunch at a local deli followed by some shopping and relaxing around the house-everyone was tired from the busy weekend!!
All ready to go to his dedication!
Pointing at leaves on his hike!
Watch out, here I come:)

Is it already time for the 9 month video?

Here's some tidbits to share about Aiden at 9 months:
  • Aiden started out this month with a very long trip to Sedona, AZ with Mommy, Grandpa Ruff, Grammy Ruff, and Uncle Andy. We attended Nick and Kelly's wedding and had soooo much fun. Aiden proved himself as a STAR traveler making lots of new friends and enjoying our adventures. He got to go hiking, swimming in the pool, and attended his first wedding.
  • At nine months, Aiden weighs 15 pounds, 12 ounces (below 5th percentile) and is 27 inches long. (1oth percentile) Mommy and Daddy worry about his weight, but the doctor agrees that Aides is very little peanut:)
  • Aiden loves his morning and afternoon nap...and so does Mommy. This the time that mommy races around the house doing laundry, cleaning up, trying to get short workouts in, and every once in awhile sneaks in a nap herself.
  • After we returned from AZ, it took a couple weeks to get Aiden back into a better night sleep schedule (I blame it on the huge time difference and vacation life), but at the end of this month, Aiden is back to sleeping through the night for the most part. Thank goodness for a little more rest for Mommy, Daddy, and Aiden!!!!
  • Aiden loves babbling-especially saying "Dada":) One of his favorite times to talk is when we walk the dogs in the morning. I often carry him in the Baby Bjorn and he points at trees and plants and talks to them...so funny:) We have to stop several times so we can feel the leaves!
  • His baby hair is all gone and we now have a full head of blonde hair:) So cute!
  • Aiden is SOOO active! He crawls all over the place, pulls up on everything, and can even stand on his own for several seconds. At his doctor's appointment, it took both Chris, the doctor, and me to wrestle him down to get his ears checked...the doctor hopes that both of us come everytime to help wrestle down our wiggly bug!
  • We have our first tooth (And the second one just made an appearance in the tenth month)!
  • Aiden loves making friends...he smiles at strangers and sometimes will wave hello or bye bye to people that we meet. He also loves to give Mommy and Daddy kisses: ) And now that we have teeth, Mommy is trying to teach him how to give slobbery kisses on the cheek, instead of those biting kisses.
  • Aiden is a picky eater...his favorite foods are cottage cheese, kiwi, peaches, applesauce, pears, and baby mum mums. We are trying to get our little boy to like those veggies and with doctor's recommendation, lucky Aiden gets each serving with a big slab of butter. Yum, yum...just the way Mommy likes them too! Aiden's favorite part of mealtime is before and after when he can try to play in the fridge before the door shuts, bang pots together, and chase the puppies all over!
  • We have graduated Aiden out of the baby bathtubs and into a real tub. He LOVES it...he crawls around, splashes, and has a crazy time in the water. Now if I can just find a spout cover so I don't have to worry about him banging his head every five seconds?
  • Aiden loves to play-we go to the park, get together with friends, play in our crazy fun basement, swing outside, go on runs and walks, listen to silly music, read stories, run errands, and even attended our first library story time. We have so much fun together!
We love you, Aiden! Happy Nine Months:)

Happy Nine Months!

Just a quick post to say Happy Nine Months, Aiden!  He turned the big "9" this past Saturday:)  I will post the video later this week, as well as some updates in the past month.
We had a great weekend visiting Clemmers, Jen, and Paul in the Bronx.  They just moved apartments, so I was hoping to lend a hand and help her get organized between the new place and the start of school.  Little did I know that Aiden had different plans-he decided to cry and cry whenever mommy was gone.  So my grand idea of helping my sister get her life organized was not so grand and  I am reminded often that life doesn't always go as planned, especially with a baby!  But I loved getting to see them and of course, Aiden always enjoys his little cousin, Clem!
I think we have the second tooth coming in (hence all of the fussiness) so hopefully it comes in VERY soon so we can have our happy boy back:)

Here are some pictures from the past few days:

Staying Busy...

We have had a busy, but fun, start to the week at the Rogers household.  Aiden and I attended our first nursery rhyme time at the library.  We had a great time, but there was no way that our little active bug was going to just sit there and contently listen to baby rhymes and songs.  Instead, he was more interested in making new friends across the room and trying to pull up on his mama:)  But we had a great time and hope to make it back soon for another morning adventure.
Aiden is also experiencing some MAJOR separation anxiety-which makes for an unhappy baby, a flustered mama, and a sad daddy.  Let's hope that this phase passes VERY quickly!!!!!
Last, but not least, we enjoyed the big Hawkeye win this weekend (sorry to my unlucky siblings and their terrible college choice)...GO HAWKS!!

Cruising in the Coupe!
I love to go for rides:)

From the East to the West...

So we have survived and throughly enjoyed another big trip of the summer:)  Last week, Aiden and I headed west for a very close friend ("my other brother")'s wedding in Sedona, AZ.
We really enjoyed the awesome weather in Arizona.  I just love heat and sunshine so it was a perfect vacation place for me.  Aiden and I enjoyed some hiking with Grandpa in the canyons, sightseeing around the town, delicious food (especially Picazzo's pizza!), and lots of pool time at the hotel.  We were lucky enough to spend the time there with my parents and my brother, Andy.
The wedding was gorgeous!  It was outside at a resort in Sedona with an awesome background of the red rocks.  The wedding was such a joyous celebration with one studly best man...aka Andy!    Nick and Kelly are such an awesome couple and we wish them a lifetime of joy and love.
Here are some pictures from a very special vacation:
