75 DAYS!!

Yes, it's true-only 75 days until the due date!
29 Weeks!

Here is Chris working on the crib-he's happy that he found the instructions now.  I arrived back from the gym with a frustrated husband because he was trying to put the crib together with no instructions.  After searching, we found them in an envelope taped to the mattress support!

We have a crib!  Isn't it pretty??

This week, baby boy Rogers weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and is just over 15 inches long from head to toe.  (Alright, maybe our little one isn't quite this long coming from his two shorter parents!)  His lungs are continuing to grow and his brain is growing rapidly, developing billions of neurons.  His skeleton is hardening, which means that I need to make sure that I get enough calcium.  Milk, yogurt, cheese, and Dairy Queen are some of my staples!

28 Weeks!

I have finally reached the THIRD and LAST trimester-yikes, time is flying!  Chris and I have both been busy this past week with lots going on.

Top Ten highlights from this week:
1.  My dad I took a trip for a couple days up to the Catskill Mountains where I got to spend time at my late grandparents' farm and see a few family members!!
2.  The Iowa game was actually on television in Connecticut-although we were a bit disappointed with the outcome:(
3.  My sister, Jen, and husband, Paul, visited from the Bronx this weekend while my dad was still here.  The girls got some shopping in, while the boys watched lots of football.  And of course in Ruff tradition, we ate LOTS of yummy food!
4.  Apple picking in Connecticut-we have SOOO many apples!  We will be eating apple crisp, apple pies, apple bread, apple sauce, and anything apple related for a long time!
5.  Chris got to rest and revive for a few moments this weekend after a CRAZY busy week at work!
6.  We received a very special package from Chris' parents with cute gear for baby Rogers.  Chris would like to know where he could get a matching Christmas sleeper???
7.  Somehow, I have caught one of my infamous colds in the past couple days!  Let's just hope it doesn't turn into a sinus infection.  Being sick and pregnant=NOT COMFORTING!
8.  I, finally, got to see my sister's lovely new apartment and her very TINY, but cute, classroom in the Bronx.  She is one dedicated and hard working teacher!
9.  We picked up our crib this week (thanks Dad and his SUV!) and hopefully will get it together this week.  One thing down, MANY more to go!!!
10.  We are now one week closer to Baby Rogers arriving and are getting so excited!!

Chris and I apple picking.  (The belly is growing bigger!!)

Me, my dad, and my sister Jen apple picking.

Look at how many apples we picked!!!!

My trip to the Catskills with Papa Ruff-this is my grandparents' farm where they grew lots of cauliflower and other amazing things.  I love visiting this area of the country!

Another picture from the farm in the Catskill Mountains.

I loved visiting my great-uncle Floyd in the nursing home while I was in Margaretville, New York.

Is this a funky room or what?  We stayed at the Roxbury Motel in Roxbury, NY (population is appx. 2,000 people) in the Baby Polka Dotty room.  Other rooms featured there include the Flintstone room, the Partridge Family room, and a Bewitched room!

This week, in baby land, the baby is continuing to mature quickly.  Our little one can turn his head from side to side.  Baby Rogers weighs about two pounds, seven ounces and measures about 15 inches from the top of his head to his heels.  He can open and close his eyes, which now have lashes.  He is also building more neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for the Connecticut winter!

26 Weeks!

Only getting bigger!!

Sympathy weight??  Chris has started running because he thinks his little stomach is enlarging!

This week, the network of nerves in Baby Rogers' ears are better developed and more sensitive than before.  He can now hear both mine and Chris' voice.  Baby Rogers is inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs.  Little Baby Rogers weighs about a 1 and 2/3 pound and measures 14 inches, about the size of a long cucumber!

25 Weeks!

Wow...15 weeks left!  This week, the baby measures 13 1/2 inches-the length of the recorder that you played in elementary school.  His weight is about a pound and a half.  His wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn.  He's growing more hair (or at least we hope)!  His arms and legs have grown to almost the proportions they will be at birth.  Small blood vessels, or capillaries, are forming under the skin and filling with blood-giving the baby a healthy pink glow.  The baby's eyes are forming, and the baby will soon perfect a blink!

So Cobi isn't quite sure what to think about this new baby stuff showing up around the house.  I was trying to take a picture of the fabulous boy outfits that my mom and sister bought us once we found out that we were having a boy.  I laid them all out and here comes Cobi to plop right down on top of them-I think he thinks that the clothes are all his.  Oh, what are we going to do with two dogs and a baby???  Chris and I were trying to figure out how these puppies are going to get their twice a day daily walks in the middle of winter once the baby arrives...hmmm...

One thing that we have accomplished:  we bought a crib!!!  It was our second Babies R Us adventure and Chris wasn't going to leave there until we had picked out and purchased a crib, which isn't easy if you know my indecisiveness!  It comes in later this month so once we have it set up, we will post some pictures!

And yes, we haven't picked a name yet (once again, indecisiveness).  We got some ideas in an email from my brother, soon to be Uncle Andy, which include:  Tito, Igor, Shel, and Don Juan de Rogers just to name a few.  Any other suggestions???
