Beach Bum!

So I just have a minute to update as we are enjoying a quick stop at the Internet cafe in town, but I wanted to post some pictures from our time at the NC beach! We enjoyed a great weekend with my parents and Grandma Snow before they headed back leaving us to fend for ourselves during the week. Although we have had lots of clouds, we have enjoyed days of sand, putt-putt, and relaxing!!!! If you scroll down in this post, you will discover the next professional golfer. In his first golf swing ever, Aiden made a hole-in-one!!!! (PS: Sorry that it is sideways, I can't figure out how to rotate it, but I am hoping to soon!!) Here are just a few photos from the week:

Enjoying the kiddie pool on the porch!

Enjoying some new toys of Grammy's:)
All sandy!
Run, run, run
Sooo Happy!

My Little Rascal...

So I am posting some very cute photos of our very rambunctious rascal at the end of this post;)
We have had quite the day around here. It all started at 2:45 am with a nice wake-up call from our little bug. For some reason, every once in awhile, he wakes up screaming and terrified of his crib. Maybe he has bad nightmares...??? He claws to get out and eventually, as most tired parents would do, we give in and take him out and cuddle/rock/do whatever needs to be done to soothe him. Chris, after several failed attempts to put him back in the crib, brought him in our bed, turned on some cartoons, and we hoped that this would help him fall asleep. NO! Instead, he climbed all around, wanted milk, and attempted to climb down to run around. So, I decided that since he seemed all right, then it was time to put him back in the crib.
Yes, he did scream but I thought we would just check on him every five or ten minutes until he fell asleep. Well, not even three minutes later...a big THUD! I thought maybe he hit his head on the crib because sometimes he does that when he is mad. I went to check on him and lo and behold, look who greeted me at his bedroom door. He climbed out of his crib!!!!!! Yes, our very tiny toddler has mastered how to get out of the crib. What do I do now??? Eventually, he snuggled in our bed and fell asleep.
Instead of waking up at his usual 6:00 am, he opted to give us an extra half hour after the two hour turmoil and wake up at 6:30, but still cranky:)
The morning was spent chasing around Aiden, a short naptime, and then we were off to meet Daddy for lunch (a very rare, but special, treat!). Aiden refused to sit in the highchair or eat...good thing we were eating outside and no one was sitting at the tables around us. He dug through my purse, ran around our table, and played with the chairs. I think Chris was ready to get back to work and send us on our way back home:)
Then, once we returned home and played outside for a bit, I decided it was time for his second naptime. Too bad Aiden didn't have the same idea! He played, fussed, and then sobbed until Mommy got him out. So I got him up and decided that we should test out his pool for the first time this summer. I finished blowing it up (a three hour ordeal that has took me a few days), filled it up with several juice jugs full of water, changed into our swimsuits, got out some water toys, and into the pool we went. NOPE! As soon as we got in, Aiden did his "nap" sign and wanted nothing to do with it. So back to putting on some comfy clothes, a quick story, and he is finally down for a nap...
Let's see what the rest of the day brings us! Hopefully, a joyful, content, and stress-free toddler:) Now, I am off to catch a few moments of rest...

Sporting his shades at the beach
Posing in the screen door
All ready to go home from the park
Obsessed with bananas-he eats like two a day and in like three seconds!
Mr. Cutie climbing all over the furniture
He loves to dance to his Leapfrog toy...he stomps his feet and twirls all around!

A Glimpse into Our Life

So this will probably only captivate the grandparents because it's a good ten minutes long, but here is what my entire day is like with an energetic 16 month old and two attention-seeking dogs:) ENJOY!
