On the Mend...

So it's been quite the week at the Rogers' household. It started like any other week...

Monday, Aiden and I were off to a morning playgroup with some friends. We had fun seeing friends, having lunch, and arrived home in time for Aiden's afternoon nap. Down he went and not long after he woke up, we had our FIRST vomiting experience with our baby boy. Not once, but five times! Oh No...Aiden had caught the flu bug and what a nasty bug it has been.

Tuesday, he continued to have the flu-not feeling well, no appetite, trying to get him to drink Pedialyte, snuggling with Mommy, sleeping, and just an overall crummy day for little Aiden.

Wednesday, he is still sick and now I have the horrible flu bug. I started to feel sick in the morning and called Chris to see if he could come early. Thank goodness that he came when I called because by 2 pm, I was in the same nasty sick boat that Aiden was in.

Thursday...both Aiden and I woke up still feeling terrible so Chris stays home to take care of us. We decided to get Aiden to the doctor to make sure he is still hydrated and see if he can give us any advice, especially since Aiden hasn't been eating much food now for three days. Since I could barely get out of bed, Chris had his first experience taking Aiden to the doctor without Mommy. (And just so you know, Aiden does not like the doctor visits AT ALL!). Chris did a wonderful job soothing Aiden's hysterical cries and relaying all of the doctor's information back to me-Aiden is hydrated, keep up the Pedialyte, and hopefully the virus goes away soon.

Friday...I am finally on the mend, but Aiden is STILL recovering.

We hope that he feels better by the end of the weekend and is back to his crazy wild antics for the week ahead!

No pictures are included in this update because I am typing from Chris' computer tonight. My charger for my computer has gone kaput...so I have been without a computer for a few days. I have to say it's amazing how much I can get done when I am not tempted to check my email or play around on the computer. I am hoping to get a new charger tomorrow so I will try to get some pictures uploaded by the end of the weekend!

I've Had A Great Week, Love Aiden

So we are changing our usual updates, because Aiden wanted to post his own message about the week so here it is:

I've had such a fun week...Mommy has been running me all over the place:) I have got to see lots of my friends-I love to play toys with someone my own size and I like to have the big kids help me out sometimes. We also went to two library play groups this week...I got to tap sticks together, sing songs, and clap my hands. It was so much fun:) This morning, Mommy had something at church and she had to leave me with some other children. I cried on and off because I missed Mommy, but I am trying to be a big boy and know that she will always return!

Daddy has had to work a lot this week, but I always love when he gets home to eat dinner with us and help with my nighttime routine. I am glad it is Friday so I can spend some more time with him this weekend...maybe he will take me to the park (and give Mommy a break!!)!

I continue to steal Mommy's phone and carry it around with me and talk into it. I love to take the doggies out after lunch and watch them run around while I practice walking outdoors. I love to bob my head to music. I especially love the new Peekaboo book that I got for Christmas-I always pull it out for Mommy or Daddy to read. My new favorite thing to play with in the kitchen is a big cookie sheet-it's loud when I bang it on the floor. I accidently poured dill all over the floor the other day when I opened the bottle out of the spice cabinet. I love to brush my own teeth. I love to put in and take out my bath toys out of the bathtub. I have a bit of a runny nose-Mommy and Daddy hope that I feel better soon:)

A Trip To The Park!

TGIF!

We have been enjoying the past couple days...a few errands, getting together with friends, lots of playtime, and the most exciting thing is that we have finally been able to venture outside after many cold days of being stuck inside! This is really the first time that Aiden can play outside with his new walking skills. He liked to walk back and forth on the lawn all while watching the doggies having a grand fun time chasing each other!

I love Fridays...it seems to be our most laidback day in the Rogers household and I anxiously await having Chris around some during the day to give me a relief of my life as a stay at home mom:)

I love this boy so much!!!!!

I am taking a break from our typical "Aiden" reads because I wanted to reach to our few blog readers out there to encourage them to help and pray for those in Haiti that are so desperately in need after the earthquake that struck there. While watching some of the videos and photos from the aftermath on the "Today" show and on CNN this morning, I just felt such a heavy heart for what happened there. While walking around my house, I realized how much I take for granted just to have the basics of life: food, water, clothing, safety of our child and ourselves, and so much more. These people have lost everything that they own and it was incredible to hear the positive spirits that continue to exist there... children are still joyfully playing on the remains of their playgrounds and many of the Haitian people are thanking God for being alive.

An Overdue Update:)

I can't believe that I haven't posted for over a week:) It's been busy around here as we are trying to recover from the holidays and return back to normal life.

We have been stuck indoors for too many days-it's just been so cold here!! We have been trying to keep our little bug busy by library visits, seeing friends, trips to the stores, and doing some fun things around home. I can't wait for some above freezing weather so I can at least get him outside for short walks:) Here are some photos from the past couple weeks:

Spaghetti night-What a Mess!

While I was cooking dinner, Aiden often buzzes over to the refrigerator when I open it. Lo and behold, while I wasn't watching...he pulled out and started gnawing on a zucchini:)

He loves to look at the world upside down. He often puts his head on the ground and just peers around-it's so funny!
