Aiden is an active bug...

Here is a video of Aiden enjoying his playmat...you can even hear his little voice (ignore me talking!):)  It's so awesome to watch Aiden as he is starting to explore the world around him with his hands and eyes!  In between naps, he loves his activities-hanging out on the play mat, listening to his mom read while he is being rocked, hanging out in the carrier, riding in the car seat, tummy time, dancing and listening to music, and of course he continues to be fascinated with the bouncer!  I am starting to see a few smiles, but have yet to capture them on camera.  Hopefully soon we can post one of his adorable smiles...

Yesterday, Aiden had a weight check at the doctor.  He has grown a whole two pounds since birth weighing in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces:)  He is still in the tenth percentile for weight, but we are glad to see that he is healthy and growing!

A Quick Update...

So we have introduced Aiden to a bottle this past week as you can see in the picture below!  He took to it like a champ and loves his feeding time with Daddy (while I enjoyed a few extra hours of sleep last night while Chris did the late night feeding):)  Tomorrow, Aiden goes in for a weight check at the doctor's office.  I am so curious to see how much he has grown since our two week appointment.  We feel like he is growing so quickly (and balding!), but compared to other babies his age...he is still a wee one!

And since Aiden has been in the Rogers family, the dogs haven't made many appearances on the blog, so here is a little tribute to them.  The dogs are still very curious about Aiden, but have definitely had some difficulty adjusting to sharing us with someone new!  Let's just say that we have been cleaning up accidents a lot more often in the past month...most likely due to the arrival of Aiden and the freezing, snowy weather we have had!  We are working on getting them back into a routine and are looking forward to some warmer weather so it's a lot easier to walk these two crazy doggies!

Aiden Meets Grandma and Grandpa Rogers!

Aiden said good-bye to Grandma and Grandpa Rogers today, but had a wonderful time with them.  Chris' parents flew out on Friday to finally meet the little guy!  They had a blast getting to know their first grandchild-they loved to cuddle and snuggle with him:)  Thanks so much for coming to visit and hope you had a safe trip back to Iowa!

A fun visitor and a video of sleepy Aiden!

This week, we were lucky to have one of my closest friends, Molly, come to visit from Wisconsin!  Molly and I lived together for all of our college years and life isn't quite the same without her around.  We really enjoyed having her here and so glad that Aiden got to meet her:)  Molly and I had a great time seeing each other-and even ventured out with little Aiden for a few shopping excursions and lunch!  Aiden has been fabulous every time we are away from the house-lucky mama:)  He would fall asleep on the car ride and stay sleeping wherever we went!   Molly and I also enjoyed some cooking, cheesy television, and just catching up on life. Molly, thanks so much for coming and we hope to see you again soon!  Now, we are looking forward to Aiden meeting his grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Rogers, who are arriving this evening!

Here is a video of Aiden as he sleeps!  He is such a peaceful but active sleeper-isn't he adorable?  I can't believe that Aiden is four weeks old today!  It's amazing to watch him grow and become more alert.  He is such a happy baby-just looking around and taking in the world around him!

We Survived...

So I survived my first week with Chris back at work!  Here is a picture of Aiden helping me do the loads of laundry that I had to catch up from the holidays and with the new addition of baby Aiden who loves to spit up and leak through diapers:)  Aiden and I had a wonderful week together as we are adjusting to life of the two of us during the day.  Between feedings, nap time, daily chores, and taking care of myself (shower, eating lunch, etc.)...I am an exhausted (but so thankful) mama by the time Chris walks in the door:)

My Three Boys...

Here's a picture of what my daytime life consists of:

Between Aiden and the two doggies, I don't get much of anything done during the day!  I feel fortunate if I can eat lunch before two and get a shower during the day...but I still love that this is my life:)  I am making a video from pictures and video clips from the hospital so I will post that when it is complete...hopefully soon!!!

We Miss Daddy!

We said so long to my family on Saturday after all the help that they gave us over the holiday break.  My mom was SOO fabulous-cooked all of our meals, did laundry, cleaned the house, and was on baby duty when Mommy and Daddy needed to sleep!!  We really, really appreciate all of the love and care that she gave us!!!!  My dad was the official dog caretaker while he was here-walking them every day and giving them plenty of attention-THANK YOU!  We really enjoyed having my siblings here as well-Aiden was glad to meet all of you and loved all of the cuddling time that you gave him (and he can't wait to meet Clementine and Jackson-his future cousins-soon!).

So Chris and I spent the weekend trying to figure out life by ourselves.  Chris took baby duty one morning so I could run some errands...return a few items and just enjoy the morning out. Chris loves his daddy time-which often is Aiden falling asleep on him and Daddy watching ESPN!  Both of us tried to get some well-needed rest...hard to come by these days.

Today was Aiden and I's first day alone-Chris was back to work:)  I will post more details later, but we had a great day with the two of us.  Chris just walked in the door-so I am off to enjoy the night, but wanted to post some more pictures of our precious Aiden:

Aiden loves to sleep with his arms up by his head:)
Thanks Uncle Andy for my cow outfit!
My official first outing to the store with Mommy, Aunt Jen, and Grammy!  Thanks Dan and Kristen for my cute little snowsuit-now I can stay warm in Connecticut just like you do in Miami!

Happy New Year!

A few more pictures of little Aiden:

Sleepy Aiden

Happy New Year!  We are celebrating the day cheering on the Hawkeyes in the Outback Bowl-GO HAWKS!  Actually, Chris is watching the game with my dad and brother-in-law, Paul, while I am happy watching Aiden sleep in his bouncer after our breakfast this morning-let hi sleep, because he is one alert baby!  Aiden is decked out in some Hawks gear (we will post pictures later)...although he hasn't got to enjoy the Iowa celebration yet!

It's amazing what New Years Eve is like when you have a newborn baby around.  We finally got Aiden asleep at like 11:00 last night and then I crawled into my bed with a magazine and was fast asleep another fifteen minutes later.  I told Chris to wake me up for the ball drop so I could ring in the new year at midnight.  I woke up at 2:00 to feed little Aiden-and wondered how I missed the NYE celebration.  Chris said that he woke me up at midnight...and that I watched the ball drop and talked to him before falling asleep...but somehow I don't remember a minute of it!  So I guess I rung in the New Years-even if I was in dreamland still!
