Lots of Adventures for Baby Rogers...

Wow...are we really approaching the 38 week mark???  YEAH-little boy Rogers could come very soon!!!  This week, we were lucky enough to have Chris' parents and brother Nate out for a Thanksgiving visit.  We had a great time and did lots of exciting things including a NYC train ride, the Radio City Rockettes show, last minute baby shopping, Cheesecake Factory (YUM!!), lots and lots of Thanksgiving cooking, and getting decorated for Christmas!  Here are some photos from the week:

1.  Chris and I on our voyage to find the perfect Christmas tree!
2.  We decided to head towards the North Pole-shorter trip:)
3.  Chris and his parents-you have to love NYC at Christmas time!
4.  Chris and I at Rockefeller Square-if only we could have seen the Christmas tree all lit up!

Baby Rogers is now full-term and could come any day now.  It's a bit strange to think that today could be the last day of just the two of us.  Being a planner, I have to give up my control and know that he will come when he is ready to come.  Chris and I are predicting that he will come after the due date, which is December 14th, but you never know.  Any guesses from any one else??  Our last big decision-what will be his name???-it will be a surprise for all!

Another Peek at 36 Weeks!

Chris and I went in for the 36 week appointment yesterday morning and will continue going every week until the end.  I asked the doctor about my size as it seems like every person I encounter comments on how small I am for being nine months pregnant.  He agreed that I was small, but considering the size of Chris and I, he wasn't surprised.  Just for precautionary measures, he scheduled an ultrasound following our appointment to check baby Rogers' measurements which will allow the doctors to establish a baseline for the rest of pregnancy to make sure the little one is continuing to grow.  Of course, I was anxious as I sat in the waiting room hoping to hear my name being called soon!  Finally, we were called in for the ultrasound.  The technician did all of the measurements, which allowed us another peek at little Rogers-he was SOO cute!  (The picture is a shot of his face-although it's so blurry compared to what we got to see.)  It's amazing how detailed the ultrasound gets and how much he has grown since 20 weeks:)  He is measuring in the 30th percentile, which is smaller than average, but she didn't think it was abnormal for our baby.  She estimated the weight right now being at 5 pounds, 9 ounces-although this is a rough estimate.  So hopefully he continues to grow as the arrival date gets closer and closer.  Chris and I are predicting that our little one will be a late baby and arrive here after December 14th, but I would love to see his little face soon!

35 Week Picture:)

It's the belly that never stops growing and still a month to go!   Little Rogers' basic physical development is mostly complete-he will spend the next few weeks just putting on weight and continuing to grow! I hope the string cheese that I have been craving this past week-at least two sticks a day-is making him happy!

I am so thankful to have had such a great pregnancy thus far!  Although I have started to lose some of my energy (yes, I was asleep at 10 pm on a Friday night) and I am not quite as comfortable when I sit down (as the little one digs into my ribs), I remember how lucky and excited I am to see our little boy very soon!  Next week, we start weekly trips to the doctor so they can monitor the little one more closely! I just can't believe how fast the time has gone and how little the time that we have just the two of us (plus Cobi and Sheffield) left:)

34 Weeks!

Baby Rogers is now the size of a cantaloupe-and you can tell in this picture-wow, I'm getting big!  His skin color is turning from red to pink, while the skin is becoming smooth and soft.  While his fingernails are  fully formed, his toenails are continuing to grow!

Time is flying by-I can't believe that it is already Thursday.  We enjoyed a fabulous weekend with my sister and her husband.  Jen and I did lots of baby shopping, while Chris and Paul enjoyed some college football.  I love having company because it allows me to make some favorite foods-lasagna and sausage balls!  And we even made a special trip up to a place that reminds us of the good ole Midwest-Cracker Barrel-and I love their fried okra (although Chris' okra is SO much better!)

This week has been full of election craziness and we enjoyed having Brandon, Chris' friend, come for a short visit last night!  We are really looking forward to Thanksgiving in a couple weeks to see Chris' parents and his brother, Nate!  If only they could stay a little longer until little Rogers arrives!
