More Lovely Visitors...

Chris and I were blessed with more visitors this past week.  Chris' brother, Jason, and his girlfriend, Rachel, were here for a week to see the East Coast (and us) before they started their fall semester at U of Iowa!!  We had a great time and I have included some pictures from our adventures.  It was a fun, but exhausting, trip-who else gets to see Central Park, the Freedom Trail in Boston, hiking in Connecticut, two concerts, the White House, and get a flat tire in the Bronx in one week?

Chris and I in Washington, DC (right in front of the Lincoln Memorial-if only you could see it!)

Brotherly Love-Jason and Chris

Jason and Rachel at their favorite spot in DC-the World War II monument.  Watch out for the water at this monument!
Jason and Rachel at Old Ironsides on the Freedom Trail (right before it poured on us and we had to share our one umbrella)!
Sam Adams grave in the cemetary on Freedom Trail
Rachel and I at the Old North Church.  They don't have pews, instead they sit in boxes to conserve the warmth because they had no heating system.
Me and Baby Rogers as we walked A LOT on the Freedom Trail!
Chris' idol and favorite musician-John Butler Trio! (click here for the JBT website... and click here for a JBT jam... and here... and here!!!)

Chris is in Vegas this week for work (tough, right?) and I have enjoyed a week of Olympics, crafts, puzzles, and being with the puppies.  I am looking forward to having him come home soon!!

22 Weeks!

I can't believe that August is almost halfway over and we are now over 22 weeks!  This week, the baby is almost one pound and starting to look like a miniature newborn.  The baby's lips, eyebrows, and eyelids are becoming more distinct.  He has developed tiny tooth buds and his eyes have formed, but his irises still lack pigment.  Chris and I took our first trip to Babies R Us and left feeling totally overwhelmed...all we need to do is pick out a crib!  And baby Rogers was spoiled this week from a package from my sister and mom with lots of CUTE baby boy clothes...we will have to post some pictures later of all the little boy outfits and a big thanks to them:)

This week, Chris and I are lucky enough to have his brother, Jason, and his girlfriend, Rachel, to visit!  We are doing the East Coast tour this week with them, which keeps a pregnant one tired!  (I think I put a damper on all of the walking that is in these cities because for some reason, I do get a little more tired than I used to!)  We were in New York City yesterday, spent the day in Connecticut today, and will be spending time in Boston and Washington, DC in the next few days.  Of course, Chris has tickets for two John Butler Trio concerts which he is pumped for.  Hopefully we get some great photos from our many adventures and still have some time for the Olympics that I obsessively record!

NYC as a tourist!

So Chris and I were lucky to have his cousin and wife, Dan and Kristen, come visit from Miami!  We had a fabulous time with them last weekend.  Although Fairfield is a great place to visit, there is only so much you can do with visitors!  So we took the train into the city and actually stayed in a hotel for two nights in true tourist style.  We did all the great tourist things that we never did when we lived so, so close to the city.  We took a Circle Line boat tour, went to the MOMA, took a NBC studio tour, and the best thing about it-had some AWESOME food.  One thing that I forgot about the city is how much walking you do.  Kristen and I both wore the flattest, most uncomfortable sandals that they make and ouch, did our feet hurt?  But we survived and had a great time!  It was great to see the two of them and we hope to see them again soon!
Dan and Chris before Circle Line

Matt Lauer and I before our NBC studio tour.  This is close as I got to him-it's a cardboard cutout.
Dan and Kristen in the ultimate tourist spot-got to love Times Square!
Kristen and I ready for our boat ride!

Chris and I are so excited for the new addition in our family-our first baby-YEAH!!!!!!!  A little Rogers boy is on the way and should be arriving in December!  Chris and I decided to join the blogging world in order to keep our family and friends informed on our life, since we live far away from so many of you.  Check back for updates and thanks for visiting!
