Happy Belated 1/2 Birthday, Aiden!
WOW...time is flying, I can't believe that six months ago our little boy was born! We have had so much fun these past six months and are looking forward to seeing what the future may bring!
Aiden had his six month appointment this past Friday-what a way to celebrate your half birthday with a round of shots, and no...he did not enjoy them at all! He cried before they even started:) But, we found out that Aiden is 25 1/4 inches (1oth percentile) and 13 pounds, 11 ounces (3rd percentile). So yes, we do have one little peanut on our hands, but he is healthy as can be.
Although he is little, he is a feisty and active bug! He just started the early steps of crawling as he is scooting towards everything he can get his hands on. I better get this place babyproofed QUICK! He has already got a hold of candleholders, the remote control, baskets, and the puppies' tails. It seems that he gravitates towards anything that is not a baby toy! My time is limited of letting him just play on the mat-he is all over the floor! He can now sit for several minutes at a time and enjoys looking at books, playing with his little activity center, chewing anything he can get his hands on, and watching the puppies that he loves so much! One of Aiden's favorite things is listening to his Wee Sing baby cd-he smiles and babbles as soon as I turn it on! He loves his bath more than anything-and tries to drink the bathwater every night with his little pail. YUCK, Mommy and Daddy say! I also started jogging with Aiden in the stroller-he loves it as it is such a cozy place to take a nap and I can finally get a workout in during the day, although it is a killer workout!
He has continued to eat solid foods-enjoying squash, avocado, peaches, and much more! He definitely will show a distaste and refuse to eat certain foods when he does not like them. It's hilarious when his face bunches up after eating bitter apricots! We have introduced the sippy cup, but are still working on how to get the liquid out of the cup...but it's a great object to play with Aiden thinks:)
One huge accomplishment this month is that we broke the swaddle!!!!!!! Thank goodness...he won't be swaddled in college after all. He still wakes up once or twice at night to eat, but no more cries for his pacifier because he can find it himself now. He goes to bed around 7:30-8:00 and wakes up nice and early with cute little noises to say good morning.
He is such a babbler-loves to make noises, especially ones that sound like a parrot or monkey! It's quite funny to hear:) We are so excited to see what this next month will bring us and are looking forward to the month of adventures ahead!
