Words from Aiden...

So I just wanted to pass on a few words from Aiden...

1. Aiden woke up WAY too early this morning, looked at Chris, and said, "Hi Super Daddy!" He has spent all morning "calling" Super Daddy on the phone to talk to him. I have just one question for him...where's Super Mommy?

2. Yesterday, we were on our way home from running errands. As we were waiting at a light, Aiden said, "Mommy, Go. Mommy, Go." I explained that we were at a red light and we couldn't just go until the light turned green. At the next red light, he said, "Mommy, Go. Light is green." Someone was in a hurry to get home...

3. As we were leaving the post office yesterday, I said that it was time to head home for lunch. Aiden looked up at me and said, " Um...Ice Cream...Lunch." He continued all the way home telling me that he wants ice cream for lunch. If only we could really eat ice cream for lunch...

And I finally found the magical secret to running errands with Aiden...two M and M's! Yesterday before we went shopping, I gave Aiden two m and m's. Lo and behold, he put one piece in each pocket and left them there the entire shopping trip! He was so happy to have this magical candy in his pocket that he was the best errand running partner ever...greeting several strangers, singing Frosty the Snowman throughout the grocery store, and listening to his mommy SO well! About every five to ten minutes, he would feel in his pockets and remind me that he had his m and m's in there. Once we got home, he put them down on the floor to get out the toaster and I am pretty sure that one of the dogs snatched it up before Aiden! Oh well, he didn't even seem to notice:) Anytime you give him candy, he will seriously hold the piece for hours and hours...my little candy hoarder!!! (Siblings, does this remind you of me when I used to have that huge candy box in my room and NOBODY could eat it?!?!)

Aiden just LOVES LOVES LOVES the song Wheels on the Bus! I was trying (with not much luck) to get a video of him singing the song. The first take started out well until Andrew started crying! Then, the second take Aiden started to get distracted by everything around him. And the third and fourth take just got a little wilder and wilder:) Enjoy and I will work on getting the whole song one of these days!!!

The Broken Touch...

Remember the story of King Midas where everything he touched was gold...

Well, I am starting to think that I have a broken touch where everything I touch breaks! Here's just a list of SOME of the broken things that we have had in this house since we moved:
1. Broken dishwasher (waiting for the new one to be installed next week)
2. Broken refrigerator (fixed last week)
3. Broken heating system (twice the repairmen have been here, but thankfully it has been working good for the past few months!)
4. Broken closet (the wall broke through because the previous owners didn't nail the support bar into a stud)
5. Broken door handle to study (still needs to be put back on and latch needs to be fixed!)
6. Broken car (sitting in the driveway until we figure out how to fix it enough to get it sold)
7. Broken front door handle (fixed by some handiwork by my dad and Chris!)
8. Broken toilet (fixed after both dads and Chris did some handiwork on that)
9. Broken foot (and still not healed:(:()
10. And on top of it all, I am now blessed with TWO sick children!!!!!!

Let's hope that this broken touch goes away NOW and these two sick boys get well SOON!!!

Happiness...

So I am sad to say that the boot is not coming off today:( I was SO, SO, SO, SO hopeful that it would be off and my life will resume back to normal (starting to exercise, going on walks, getting out and about more and more especially as spring is starting to arrive). I headed to the doctor this morning to find out that the foot is not healed and I will be in the boot for at least two more weeks.
Yes, I cried (I hate to admit it) as I just want this silly thing off. But, on the bright side of things-I have two wonderful, happy, and healthy boys that light up my days!!!

Enjoying donuts!
I love, love, love smiles from Andrew:)
Down Sheffy!!! A common phrase that Aiden uses while he eats:)
Another smile
My little dribbler
Smiles again!

I have to say that I have never liked boots (even the stylish ones, I have never owned a pair) and I never will be liking them, especially after the past two months:)

Life Lately...

There is never a dull moment in the Rogers household! We have been BUSY, BUSY, BUSY since our return from North Carolina. The boys keep my toes going at all time. I'm never sure what to expect from them and I have to say that I am on the go from about 6 am until 8:30-9:00 pm with the two of them. There is some sacred time in our house...and that is nap time which occurs around 1-3ish. I enjoy the downtime with every single bone of my body.
Aiden is constant energy right now! His new thing is to run everywhere:) He loves to run around the house and thank goodness for some nicer weather because he just loves getting outside and running around. The other day he was running around the yard with his arms outstretched chasing the dogs like a giant airplane! Like most toddlers, he is very observant and things are me, me, me. He is very independent-dresses himself, brushes his own teeth, makes his own oatmeal, and the list goes on and on and on. Most of the time, his peculiarities make me laugh but sometimes they come close to driving me crazy (especially when I have a major lack of sleep and my patience is running thin)!!!!
Andrew continues to grow everyday! I definitely think he is going to be bigger than Aiden, but he is still my little peanut:) I have to secretly admit that I love nap time so much because I spend most of this time cuddled on the couch soaking up some time with my little boy. I just know how fast this baby stage goes and I want to try to enjoy every minute of it! We are trying to get Andrew to take a bottle, but are not having much luck. I'm hoping that he will start taking one soon as this sleep deprived mama would like a full night's sleep sometime soon!!!!! He is becoming much more aware of the world around him-grasping toys, cooing and making sounds, and lots of smiles and giggles:)
Besides running around with the boys, Chris and I have been working on this old house non-stop. Next time I move, I have already vowed to buy something newer with less upkeep...It is has been SO much work, especially when we have two little kiddos to chase. In the past two weekends, we have painted our bedroom, hung new curtains, added some wall letters to Andrew's room, hung a new entryway light, repainted two radiator covers, reseeded our grass, and Chris is now working to fix a BIG hole that showed up in our closet (thanks to the previous owner's terrible handiwork!). (If you can't tell by now, we are some of Home Depot and Lowe's favorite customers!!!) We also had to have our refrigerator repaired since we have been back and tomorrow, we will be getting a NEW dishwasher! Believe it or not, I have been hand washing dishes for 3 months when our other one decided to quit and tomorrow is going to be one BIG celebration as I will finally have a dishwasher again!!!!
With any other free time we have left, I have been going to story time at the library, meeting up with a playgroup, and running errands. (Who knew that grocery shopping would make me sweat?) We enjoyed a short visit from my dad yesterday as he arrived back from Israel. I know that he enjoyed the mall train ride as much as Aiden did and I am thankful that I had a good excuse to get some ChickFilA lunch! I am anxiously waiting for next Tuesday when my big black boot will finally be off and I can get on to life with normal-that thing drives me CRAZY!!!!!!
Here are some pictures of the boys for all to enjoy:
Aiden told me that he was going to drive in our new car to Meme's and Grandma Snow's that night! He went upstairs to pack his keys and phone into his John Deere lunchbox. Then, he came downstairs and put his shoes, coat, and Daddy's hat on and told me he was all ready to go!
Loves Tuesday and Friday mornings when the garbage truck comes:)
Hanging out around the house-how we spend a lot of our day!
Making waffles with Mommy
Loves bathtime:)

And Andrew...
Not sure if he really notices the toys, but we pretend!
Getting ready to take a daily outing with Mommy and Aiden!
Enjoying some tummy time on the playmat
Spending a few quiet moments with Mommy and Daddy after Aiden goes to bed:)
All clean after his bath! And this boy is starting to FINALLY like his baths...no more tears and every once in awhile, he will even crack a smile in the bathtub!!!

Can you guess what question Chris gets asked the most when I call him at work???
Watch the video to find out:)

So earlier today, I planned to get the kids to bed and update with a nice, thoughtful blog entry!
Now, that's it 9:15 pm:
We got the kids are snug in bed...YEAH!
I have taken my first shower today...YEAH!
And American Idol is on...so I will save any more words for another day:)

We made a safe trip home from NC with our two boys and surprisingly, the trip went quite well. We got about 1/2 hour of double naps in the car-pure bliss for the mama who was riding between them!

Aiden is glad to have Daddy around again!
And Mommy loves the extra hands so she can cuddle with little bug, Andrew!
And the boys are having fun getting used to our house again:)

Happy 3 Months Andrew!

Our little bug hit the three month mark last week!!! We have had a busy and exciting time in his third month of life:) Most of this month was spent visiting family down in North Carolina why Daddy finished up his busy season back in New Jersey. We had a FANTASTIC time with family, despite my broken ankle.

At 3 months:
  • Andrew is my sleeping machine:) (I love that you are such a good sleeper, but it makes me wish you were awake more so I could see your cute little eyes open more often. But I just cherish those awake times even more!) He takes great naps, mostly in his swing all swaddled up still. Andrew also sleeps great at night. Most of the month, the little bug slept either in his pack and play or in the bed with Mommy while we stayed at Meme's house! He wakes up once or twice during the night to feed and then goes right back to sleep. Andrew likes to have his pacifier to help get him to sleep, but will spit it out often once he is out for good!
  • Andrew continues to eat well-usually every 2.5 to 4 hours during the day and we usually get a 6-7 hour stretch at night. Sometimes, he spits up like crazy and other days, there is no spit up...it doesn't really bother me as his brother was a crazy, crazy spitter!
  • Andrew is a little smile bug!!! When he smiles, his whole body smiles:) It can make anyone happy!!!! Recently, we get little coos and laughs out of Andrew:) It's so adorable and I can't wait for more to come in the next few months!!!
  • Andrew likes to play: laying on his playmat (kicking himself around in circles), sitting in his bouncer (kicking himself right onto the floor if he isn't buckled in), watching his wild brother, getting stories read to, being carried in the Baby Bjorn, and just taking in the world around him. He has really soaked up the world around as he has been such an easy baby with all the different things that have happened this month: road trip to North Carolina, Mama's broken ankle, lots of different places and people in North Carolina, etc.
  • Andrew is definitely a little boy-cute little chubby cheeks, lots and lots of different colored hair, and just a smile that melts anyone. Great Grandma Snow calls him "her little hockey player" because he are such a boyish looking baby!
We love you, Andrew! Happy Three Months!

What We've Been Up To...

Aiden has had a few too many Oreos for dessert...
Held and loved Meme's guinea pig, Oreo:)...
And received a much-needed haircut...
Andrew has learned how to wiggle himself out of everything:
Enjoyed lots of love from Mommy, Aiden, and finally...Daddy:
And celebrated his 3 month birthday!!!!
