Yum Yum!

Aiden has been introduced to the fabulous world of food this week:)  What a lucky boy!  The first few days, he was a bit confused on putting a spoon in his mouth and most of the food ended up all over his bib!  The past couple of days, he can't seem to get enough as he chows down:)  Tonight, we are going to try some pears-should be interesting!

Also, Aiden has started to roll over from back to belly.  For the past few days, I have been watching a very determined Aiden as he tries and tries to roll over.  Yesterday, I put him on his back on a blanket with some toys and went to get my drink in the other room...what do you know but when I returned, he had flipped over.  Seriously, how did I miss it??  But he has shown me several times today that he is a quite impressive flipper!

Yummy!
I am not sure what to think about this...
Do you think I need a napkin?
Daddy, let me try!

And here is the video of the whole experience:

Aiden's Four Month Stats

Here are Aiden's four month stats:
11 pounds, 9 ounces (5th percentile)
24 inches (25th percentile)

Aiden had a great doctor's appointment on Thursday- he is a healthy and happy baby (except for the tremendous loud wail after his shots)!  The doctor wants us to start solids so we are hoping to start rice cereal tomorrow-it should be one interesting mess!!  Also, we are enjoying a beautiful weekend with my dad, Jen, Paul, and Clem up here visiting us in Connecticut:)

Aiden Four Month Video:)

Wow, it's already time for the fourth month video (for those interested, the song in the video is called "Gonna Take It" by the John Butler Trio... visit the JBT website at johnbutlertrio.com):

At four months, Aiden continues to be a joyous baby!  It's been a BUSY fourth month of life for the little guy:) One place that Aiden and Mommy enjoyed visiting this month was to see Aunt Jen, Uncle Paul, and little Clem!  Aiden would sleep the entire drive down and back, making it easy for his mama to navigate crazy NYC traffic.  Once we were there, Aiden loved to watch his baby cousin and play with all of the new things at their house.  Another special place that our family took this month was Aiden's first trip to Iowa!  Aiden did wonderful on another plane trip-and even survived a crazy flight home.  We had a great time seeing lots of family and friends while we were there.  Aiden loved to smile and charm all of his relatives on Easter day and got lots of attention from everyone, especially Grandma and Grandpa:)  He also got to go visit the Easter Bunny for the first time while he was there-and even graced the bunny with some special Aiden spit-up!  Aiden also enjoyed some trips around town:  the library, grocery store, Target, Saturday lunches at Panera, and his first time in the church nursery!  Aiden has enjoyed our first walks in the jogging stroller this month!  We are loving the stroller and Aiden gets to face out-watching trees, cars, and houses as we stroll by them.  Once he falls asleep, he gets to be reclined and enjoy a nice nap while Mommy gets a workout pushing him up the hills!
Aiden continues to explore and discover new things every day.  He smiles A LOT-and loves charming everyone with his little dimples.  He loves being sang to-even with my terrible voice.  He loves the song BINGO and will light up when you start singing it to him:)  He just started noticing the dogs and loves watching their tails wag...and every once in awhile will reach out to touch them.  We just have to make sure that he catches them in a good mood!  Aiden also loves looking at himself in the mirror-he will SMILE like crazy everytime he sees his face and will even babble at times to his reflection.  The little man loves to coo and make little monkey times-often when he is playing by himself or watching his mobile!  He doesn't exactly love tummy time, but continues to hold his head up and is trying so hard to scoot that little body!  Aiden seems to love everything-the swing, playing in the bouncer, his playmat, dancing, walks, being carried in the Baby Bjorn, the Bumbo, etc...but his absolute favorite thing of the day is BATHTIME!  He smiles as soon as we start undressing him and loves kicking around in the water:)  But, OH NO, once we take him out...he cries LOUDLY!  It's not a pretty sight before bedtime, but once we get him dressed and read him a couple stories, most nights he is ready for bed.  We can't wait to see what another month will bring-Happy Four Months!

Back from Iowa...

Chris, Aiden, and I had a great trip back to Iowa this past week:)  Aiden survived another round of flights, including one crazy return flight that I will give more details on later.  We spent our first day in Des Moines, Iowa where Aiden got to meet one of my best friends, April, and her baby bump that will be arriving in July:)  I can't wait to swap baby stories and have our little ones meet up soon!  While we were there, we were lucky enough to have a Rock Bottom dinner with Aunt Jackie and cousin Sara-one of the many relatives that was graced with Aiden's spit up during the week!  The rest of the week, we spent the time in Cedar Falls.  Chris enjoyed the time away from work and really enjoyed watching the first Cubs' games of the season-especially since we don't get WGN out here in Connecticut.  I enjoyed getting together with friends and some good Iowa food including a couple Jimmy Johns subs:)
Aiden took his first trip to the Easter bunny on Friday!  Although he was tired in the late afternoon, we managed to get some smiles for the camera.  On Easter day, Aiden loved meeting  his great-grandparents, great aunts and uncles, and many other relatives!  We enjoyed some great food and family time.
Our trip home was a LONG journey, but we finally arrived HOME SWEET HOME!!!  Our flight from Detroit to LaGuardia got delayed for an hour or so.  We finally boarded the plane...only to be held about another hour on the runway before taking off.  As we approached the NYC area, the pilot came on the intercom and said that we were in holding as LaGuardia was not taking any arrivals.  So then, we were stuck flying around in circles.  We flew in circles so long that our plane was running low on gas and was rerouted to Hartford to refuel and wait to be cleared to take off again.  Finally around midnight, about five hours after expected, we arrived at LaGuardia and could head home!  Woah, it was quite a journey-especially since I have the flu and Aiden was EXHAUSTED after a busy week!
And to add to the excitement of the week, Aiden has a new cousin born to my sister and her husband, Jill and Tom!  Jackson Thomas Breiner was born on Easter day-their own little Jack rabbit.  We can't wait to meet the little boy and are so excited for Aiden to have cousins so close in age:)
Here are some pictures from the exciting week in Iowa:

What a fabulous week...

Thank goodness for the weekend!  Chris and I are both exhausted after a great week and are trying to catch some much needed rest:)  Even little Aiden is tired and had to go to bed early tonight after he shed some exhaustion tears!  Yesterday, Chris got to go to the first game in Yankee Stadium to cheer on the Cubs-YEAH!  The Cubs lost, but he had a great time there.  Below are some pictures from the night and we will upload some videos later.
I am loving the spring weather that is finally hitting Connecticut!  I finally can break out flip flops and have packed the winter coat away-YES!!!  My big thrill of the week is the jogging stroller that arrived this week!  THANK YOU to Grandpa Ruff for this wonderful Christmas gift:)  I researched them extensively and finally purchased a BOB stroller when it went on sale and am in love with it!!  Aiden and I have took advantage of every nice day this week with a long walk-he loves to snooze as I push him up the BIG hills around town-what a workout.  The stroller is amazing and I am looking forward to logging many, many miles on it!
Aiden and I took another visit to Aunt Jen, Uncle Paul, and Clem yesterday.  It's so much fun living close and having babies at the same time.  Aiden really is fascinated with Clem and even reaches out to touch her.  Now, we are anxiously awaiting for Aunt Jill and Uncle Tom (my other sister and brother-in-law) to have their baby boy.  She is due April 9th-so any day now!  Three sisters with three first babies-what a rarity, but SOO much fun!

Some cute pictures from the week...

Time just seems to fly by-I can't believe that it is already April!  I wanted to share some pictures from the past week:
Look at Aiden's smile as he watches Sheffield!
Aiden is going to hang out on the porch with Daddy!
His bashful smile:)
Enjoying the sunshine-YEAH for a little warmer weather!
Aiden and Clem-How cute!  (Minus the major spit up that accumulated on Aiden's shirt-YIKES!)
Happy Bug:)
All tuckered out after a playdate yesterday!

He loves his teddy bear!

It's amazing how I have learned how to make the most of my time during the day.  I am sitting down to write this at 9:30 and have already completed the following things:  a morning run, walking the dogs, feeding and playing with Aiden, putting him down for a nap (which can be a struggle!), a refreshing and quick shower, picked up the house, folded and changed over laundry, and even had some breakfast while I checked my email-and I feel like there is so much more I could do!  I always feel like when Aiden is napping, I am living on borrowed time as I am never quite sure if he will take a 20 minute nap or a 2 hour nap.
Aiden continues to be a happy and active baby.  We had a big step this weekend when we left Aiden in the church nursery for the first time.  He charmed the nursery workers with his dimples and nonstop energy!   Also this week, Aiden and I took another trip down to visit Clem.  My sister and I went on a brave adventure as we took the two little ones out to lunch at Applebee's and for a quick shopping excursion-the babies did great and the moms were exhausted by the end of the day!
In other news, Chris is looking forward to attending a Cubs game in the new Yankee stadium on Friday!  Since it is the first game in the stadium, I have a feeling it's going to be chaotic so Aiden and I will be hanging out at home while Daddy enjoys the big game!!
